New York firefighter dies battling warehouse blaze

Firefighter dies after Brooklyn warehouse fire:

A New York City firefighter who came home from work after responding to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks died today while battling a multi-alarm blaze in a warehouse in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says Fire Lt. Rich Nappi apparently became overcome from the heat in the summer-like afternoon weather and collapsed. He died of cardiac arrest. Five other firefighters were injured – none of their injuries are life threatening.
