New Keystone Pipeline route proposed

The State Department has received a new application from TransCanada Corp. for a proposed pipeline that would run from the Canadian border to connect to an existing pipeline in Steele City, Nebraska. The new application includes proposed new routes through the state of Nebraska.

State declined an earlier proposal because of its environmental impact on Nebraska. Leading to this new submission.

The failure of the Obama administration to approve the first line has been attacked by Republicans.

The State Department says it will conduct a “rigorous, transparent and thorough review” of the new application,
