Watch the Space X liftoff!
The second time was the charm.
The first launch attempt aborted right at the last second – literally – due to a technical error detected by computers. But this morning, SpaceX became the first commercial outfit to send its own spacecraft toward the International Space Station with the launch of the cargo-bearing Dragon capsule.
On board the flight are the ashes of actor James Doohan, who played engineer Scotty in Star Trek. He died in 2005.
