Boehner presses Obama, Dems on jobs bill [Video]

WASHINGTGON – House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) released a video late Wednesday increasing pressure on President Obama and Senate Democrats to take up a handful of House-passed bills said to create jobs.

“These aren’t big, controversial bills that no one has read. They’re practical, common sense proposals to help small businesses to create jobs and build a stronger economy for all Americans,” Boehner says in the video.

“This isn’t just our work, it’s our work in progress,” he says in the video. “You see, we’re going to keep adding to this pile and we’re going to keep calling on President Obama and Democrats in the Senate to give these jobs bills a vote.”

The list of 30 bills include measures to repeal Obama’s healthcare law, cut taxes for small businesses, reign in excessive regulations and pursue an “all-of-the-above energy strategy.”

The video’s unveiling comes ahead of Obama’s Thursday trip to Cleveland, Ohio where he’ll speak on the economy at a Cuyahoga Community College campaign event.
