Poll: Members of Congress listen to their parties, not their constituents

Voters continue to believe overwhelmingly that members of Congress listen more to their party leaders than to those they represent but get reelected anyway because election rules are fixed.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent  of likely U.S. voters think the average member of Congress listens most to the voters he or she represents. Eighty-one percent disagree and say the average legislator listens most to his or her party leaders in Congress. Eleven percent  are not sure.
