Romney camp slaps Obama for high Latino unemployment

WASHINGTON - Mitt Romney’s campaign said Tuesday that President Obama has failed one of his most important constituencies — Hispanics.
In a statement, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said last week’s jobs report, which revealed that unemployment among Hispanic workers has reached 11 percent, shows Obama “hasn’t lived up to his promise” of improving the economy for millions of Hispanics.
“From day one of his presidency, Mitt Romney will enact policies that get our economy moving again for Hispanics and all Americans.”
The decision by Romney to highlight his efforts to help Latinos comes on the heels of a Politico story suggesting that Romney has been advised to aggressively court minority voters.
The report quoted a key Romney supporter in Congress — House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) — as saying “we have got to be able to talk to women and minorities in ways they identify.”
