Bill requires Olympic uniforms be made in the USA

TALK RADIO NEWS SERVICE

WASHINGTON - Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced Tuesday that he and eight other Senate Democrats will introduce their “Team USA Made in America Act of 2012? next week.

“This idea is pretty simple: When the best American athletes are representing this country, they should be wearing the best ‘Made in the U.S.A.’ uniforms,” Manchin said.

“This truly brings to light the magnitude of the problem of outsourcing American manufacturing jobs – something we must work to solve, not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans,” Manchin added. “I know we can bring these jobs back to the USA.”

Yes, all flags other than plastic should be made in America, all Olympic team uniforms and military uniforms should all be made in America as long as there are enough people who still know and like to sew with or without a sewing machine.

There are several manufacturers of clothing who still proudly say “MADE IN THE USA” and their prices are NOT outrageous. Hell, who needs Ralph Lauren? Susan Graver, Caroline Strauss and Anthony Mark Hankins make some or all of their clothing HERE. All three are designers as well! I’m sure there are others but those are the ones I could come up with at a moments notice! You go, Senator Manchin!

i think that if a country wants to sell into north america like china it should have at least 25% made in usa content they did that in 67 for the auto industry and today a lot of jobs in na are due to that law

It is un-American to wear products mfg in a foriegn country when representing this nation. Military, Police, Security, and any U.S. citizen or organization that claims to be American should be required to wear American made products. It saddens me when I go to a store to purchase clothing or any other product and cannot even find ONE that is American made. If you want to be an Amerian – Show It!
