WASHINGTON - House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) was in sync with Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign Thursday when he blasted President Obama over reports the administration sent stimulus money abroad.

“Americans are not only asking ‘Where are the jobs?’ They have a right to know why the hell the Obama administration shipped their tax dollars overseas in the middle of a recession,” Boehner said during his weekly press conference with reporters.“The president owes every American taxpayer an explanation.”

The Romney campaign has been pouncing on Obama over allegedly shipping stimulus cash to foreign companies.

White House spokesman Jay Carney has since come to the administration’s defense, arguing that the accusation “doesn’t pass the laugh test.”

“The president has been pushing for Congress to take action to reward companies that bring jobs back home to the U.S. and to cease incentivizing companies that are shipping jobs overseas,” Carney said. “Republicans oppose that.”
