Dempsey blasts ex-military, CIA for attacking Obama [Video]
Some former Navy SEALS, ex-CIA agents, have been openly critical of President Obama. Most notably attacking him for, in their opinions, claiming to have lead the operation that led to the demise of Osama bin Laden.
While he would not comment on whether he agreed with their assertions, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, expressed his disappointment that they’ve been speaking out. Saying that it’s not useful to his mission of leading the armed forces of the United States.
Dempsey’s comments came in an interview with the Fox News Channel.

While in unifrom, active duty, National Guard and Reserves are required to remain out of politics according to the UCMJ when voicing their opion as a military member. Once they retire, the military should be to use their freedom of speach more freely. If a retired member wants to form a group of former military, CIA, FBI or any other gov agency and make comments concerning the current president or leadership, he or she has that right. These comments should be written professionaly and honest. Comments which critize the president, even if unwanted should be allowed. Any leader who doesn’t want to hear the bad things, will only have ‘yes’ men surrounding him and will never hear the truth that he or she needs to know so good decisions can be made.
This does not apply to anything that is classified or which could hurt the US, the US citizens or any subject which they signed an NDA preventing them from discussing.
