ER overcrowding

TRNS - Keeping patients in emergency rooms, a root cause of overcrowding and potentially dangerous wait times could be virtually eliminated by implementing several strategies for improving efficiency. But federal regulation may be required to put them into use, theAmerican College of Emergency Physicians said.

A paper issued by ACEP “is another in a long series of wake-up calls about the dangerous practice of ‘boarding’ admitted patients in emergency rooms,” ACEP president David Seaberg said.
