What Patton also fails to mention is that Dan Cathy donates money to organizations such as the Family Research Council, which the Southern Poverty Law Center listed as an anti-gay hate group in 2010. One of FRC’s beliefs is that Gays be deported (now who is sounding Gestapo Doug?) from the USA.

At the same time, I do believe that Chick Fil A can open wherever they want and let the public decide whether to patronize the restaurant or not. Many people I saw interviewed on the line yesterday said they did not support Cathy’s views on same sex marriage but the companies right to do business. At the same time there were plenty who were there for the anti-gay rhetoric stirred up by the extremists on the Right(well now the extremists are now the mainstream of the GOP which is scary in itself).
