CHARLOTTE – We are better off than we were four years ago. It takes time to come out of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Electing Mitt Romney means going back to the policies that got us in this economic mess in the first place.

These were the arguments offered by President Obama at the close of the Democratic National Convention – reasons he gave for giving him your vote again.

There was more.

Obama talked about how the Republicans are big on the idea of turning the economy around but short on specifics. But he offered no specific plan either.

He also contrasted the parties – saying the Republicans want people to make it on their own while the Democrats want to help those in need.

The conventions are both now over. The campaigning now begins inĀ earnest.
