MORMON FACES EXCOMMUNICATION FOR CRITICIZING ROMNEY
The publisher of an online news site that publishes scholarly articles about Mormonism has been hauled into the church offices in Orlando and warned that he’d better stop or face excommunication.
An excommunication hearing has been scheduled for later this month for David Twede, publisher of Mormonthink.com, a site that as of this posting was down. The reason the site does not connect is not known.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast, Twede said the Sunday meeting with church elders made him feel “attacked, cornered and very anxious.”

He has the right to write, and the church has the right to excommunicate him
To write something is not wrong and it depends on the church either to comunicate or excomunicate.
It is the primary responsibility of any religion to protect itself and many or all of the fundamentalist groups would have taken this position. Now having said that I think it is problematical for those who belong to such groups and want to seek the office of tlhe PRESIDENCY.
My husband and I had a conversation about this the other day. Yes, we are Obama supporters but if the inconceivable happens we want to know what to expect. We are both worried about Mitt Romney’s many statements in which he says he puts his religion first. Both of us are worried about this for a PRESIDENT must put his country first. As my husband said, “if you are not running for office you put your family first.”
In a society as religiously diverse as this one is putting your religion first will only serve to separate you from other people. If you don’t think this is a serious problem I am old enough to remember this: At the graduation in a Catholic high school the mother superior was asking the girls what they wanted to be. “Mary Anne, what do you look forward to?” Mary Anne responded that she wanted to be a doctor. “Mary Margaret, what are your hopes for the future?” Mary Margaret looked forward to becoming and attorney. “Mary Agnes, what are your dreams for the future?” “Mother superior, I want to be a prostitute. ” After mother superior regains conciousness she asks the question again to the same answer. “Oh thank heavens, says mother superior, I thought you said PROTESTANT.” You can substitute any religions you like and the feeling will be the same.
