ROMNEY NARROWS GAP, DEBATE A FACTOR

Registered voters’ preferences for president are evenly split between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in the three days since the first presidential debate, a new Gallup poll finds.

A Gallup-record 72% of those who viewed the debate say Romney did the better job.
